A WOMAN WHO BILKED THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS FROM RETIREES WHO LIVED IN CHARLOTTE SQUARE CONDOMINIUMS WAS SENTENCED TO A DOZEN YEARS IN PRISON WEDNESDAY IN PUNTA GORDA. JUDGE ALANE LABODA CALLED THE ACTIONS OF 36 YEAR OLD STACEY TUCK REPREHENSIBLE AND DEPLORABLE AS HE SENTENCE THE NORTH PORT WOMAN AS PART OF A PLEA AGREEMENT. TUCK WAS ARRESTED EARLIER THIS YEAR AFTER CHARLOTTE SQUARE BOARD MEMBERS DETERMINED THAT MORE THAN A MILLION DOLLARS MISSING FROM THE ASSOCIATION’S FUNDS SINCE 2008 WERE TAKEN BY TUCK, WHO WAS THE PROPERTY MANAGER. MANY RESIDENTS SPOKE UP AT THE SENTENCING HEARING, SOME IN TEARS OVER THEIR LIFE SAVINGS BEING TAKEN BY TUCK. SHE COULD HAVE GOTTEN AS LITTLE AS TWENTY-ONE MONTHS IN THE PLEA AGREEMENT, WHICH REMOVED TWO CHARGES WHICH COULD HAVE PUT HER AWAY FOR THIRTY YEARS.
