WOMAN ROBBED IN SARASOTA

A WOMAN TOLD AUTHORITIES SHE WAS ROBBED WHILE WALKING ALONG A SARASOTA ROAD LAST NIGHT.  DEPUTIES SAY THE 27 YEAR OLD WAS HEADING SOUTH ON MCINTOSH FROM BEE RIDGE ROAD AT AROUND 7:30PM WHEN A DARK GREY PONTIAC SUNFIRE PULLED ALONGSIDE HER.  A PASSENGER GOT OUT OF THE BACK SEAT AND APPROACHED THE VICTIM, GRABBING HER PURSE.  A STRUGGLE ENSUED AND THE SUSPECT USED A STUN-GUN TO BRIEFLY DISABLE THE VICTIM.  THE SUSPECT THEN PUSHED THE VICTIM TO THE GROUND AND TOOK OFF WITH THE PURSE.  THE SUSPECT THEN GOT BACK INTO THE SUNFIRE AND FLED SOUTH ON MCINTOSH.  THE SUSPECT VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN BY A HISPANIC FEMALE, AND THE VICTIM SAID A SECOND FEMALE WAS ALSO IN THE CAR.   THE VICTIM WAS NOT INJURED.  THE SUSPECT IS DESCRIBED AS A BLACK MAN IN HIS TWENTIES; ABOUT SIX FEET TALL WITH A THIN BUILD AND SHORT HAIR.  ANYONE WITH INFORMATION IS ASKED TO CALL CRIMINAL INVESTIGATIONS AT 861-4900, OR CRIME STOPPERS AT 366-TIPS.
