SARASOTA COUNTY SUPERVISOR OF ELECTIONS KATHY DENT ANNOUNCED LAST NIGHT THAT THE PROVISIONAL BALLOTS HAVE BEEN COUNTED AND THERE WILL BE NO CHANGE IN THE RESULTS OF THE ENGLEWOOD WATER DISTRICT ELECTIONS FROM TUESDAY. DENT SAID THAT PHYLLIS WRIGHT PICKED UP FOUR VOTES TO CHALLENGER JOHN MEAD’S NINE, MEANING THAT WRIGHT STILL HELD A 53 VOTE LEAD, WHICH WAS NOT ONE HALF OF ONE PERCENT OF THE VOTE WHICH WOULD HAVE TRIGGERED A RECOUNT. CHARLOTTE COUNTY STILL HAS TO COUNT THEIR PROVISIONAL VOTES TODAY, BUT SOURCES SAY IT WILL NOT HELP MEAD ENOUGH TO CHANGE THE OUTCOME. THE RESULTS WILL BE CERTIFIED BY THE BOARDS OF ELECTIONS NEXT WEEK. THE OTHER RESULTS WILL REMAIN THE SAME AS PAUL MANKE BESTED DAVID GROOTERS.
