Sarasota gets a two-day window to show what it’s made of. Fall for Sarasota runs September 17 and 18, and the Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce has set a goal of 500 volunteer hours, all of it logged across morning and afternoon shifts at 20 project sites around town.
The projects are built for real life. Pack and distribute meals with Meals on Wheels. Put in outdoor hours at The Bay. Reorganize costumes for The Sarasota Players. Pack holiday items for foster children and families. Companies can register as teams, and individuals can simply claim a shift. The Baltimore Orioles return as presenting sponsor, with their year-round Florida operations staff joining a painting and beautification project at Innovation Academy, a reminder that the team’s Sarasota footprint runs well beyond spring training.
One heads-up: several projects are already full, and registration happens through the Chamber’s events page. If 500 hours is the goal, every shift counts, whether you give three hours or a full day.
