The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a homicide after a woman was found dead in a parking lot along U.S. 41 in Bradenton late Thursday night. Deputies responded to a 911 call just before 11:15 p.m. at the lot near the former WingHouse Bar and Grill, at U.S. 41 and 51st Avenue Drive West. According to the sheriff’s office, her injuries indicated homicide.
Rodney Booth, 64, was encountered at the scene and has been charged with murder. Authorities have not released the victim’s name, which means a family in our community may still be learning what happened to someone they love. This stretch of 41 is a corridor thousands of us drive every day, which is exactly why what happens there deserves attention.
