A 4-year-old boy was killed early Sunday morning when gunfire struck multiple homes on Grassy Patch Lane in northwest Charlotte. Police responded around 3 a.m. to a 911 call reporting an assault with a deadly weapon and found two gunshot victims at the scene.
The child, identified as Caleb Flax, was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries and later died. A second victim, an adult, was treated for injuries that were not life-threatening. The shooting is being investigated as a homicide, and police have not released any suspect information at this time.
