Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport has a new addition. Aircraft Services Group is officially opening its 30,000-square-foot hangar and corporate headquarters today, complete with a 5,000-square-foot private lounge, kitchen and office space, and a 20,000-gallon fuel farm. The open house runs from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. with a short program at 1:30, and invited guests can tour private jets while enjoying food trucks and live music.

The company’s leadership, including founder George Reenstra, President Andrew Reenstra and CEO Peter Cuomo, will be on hand, along with SRQ CEO Paul Hoback. Beyond the celebration, the Sarasota location is set to become a hub for the company’s expanding operations. That could mean new jobs in ground operations, piloting, charter sales and maintenance. The company hasn’t shared how many positions or when hiring might begin.

Private aviation has been a growing piece of SRQ’s story in recent years, and this hangar adds real capacity to the airfield. For a region built on tourism, arts and spring training baseball, a stronger aviation sector is one more thread in the local economy. What would you like to see next at SRQ?
