Milwaukee was three outs from its first World Series championship Tuesday night at Tropicana Field. Then Joey Ortiz’s throw to first base bounced in the dirt, Liam Hicks singled, Jonny DeLuca singled, Chandler Simpson singled, and pinch-hitter Ben Williamson chopped a ball near the foul line that kicked up chalk and bounded clean over Jake Bauers, scoring pinch-runner Nick Fortes. Rays 4, Brewers 3. Game 5 tonight.

Cooper Pratt’s 12th-inning homer off Ian Seymour had just given Milwaukee a 3-2 lead, and the Brewers bullpen had thrown seven straight scoreless innings. Tampa Bay became just the fifth team of 26 to win Game 4 after trailing 3-0 in a World Series, and the fourth ever to avoid elimination with an extra-inning comeback. Rays skipper Kevin Cash said it plainly: “We’ve got a lot of fight in us.”

Game 5 is Wednesday night at the Trop with Jacob Misiorowski, the Cy Young favorite, starting for Milwaukee. Junior Caminero’s injured foot is the local storyline to watch; he’s already vowing to play.

So we want to hear from you: were you still watching in the 12th, or did you turn it off before the rally? Let us know in the comments.
