IT APPEARS THAT THE RACE FOR ONE OF THE SEATS ON THE ENGLEWOOD WATER DISTRICT BOARD OF SUPERVISORS HAS NOT BEEN DECIDED. RESULTS FROM TUESDAY’S ELECTION SHOWED THAT INCUMBENT PHYLLIS WRIGHT HAD EDGED CHALLENGER JOHN MEAD BY JUST 58 VOTES, BUT SUPERVISOR OF ELECTIONS KATHY DENT SAID WEDNESDAY THAT 200 PROVISIONAL BALLOTS, 18 ABSENTEE BALLOTS, AND SOME UNSCANNED BALLOTS AT PRECINCTS HAVE YET TO BE COUNTED. SHE WILL MAKE AN ANNOUNCEMENT THIS AFTERNOON WHICH COULD EITHER DECLARE WRIGHT THE WINNER, TRIGGER A MANDATORY RECOUNT, OR DECLARED MEAD THE WINNER. A RECOUNT IS MANDATORY IF THE FINAL MARGIN IS WITHIN ONE HALF OF ONE PERCENT. PAUL MANKE HELD ON TO HIS SEAT BY BEATING CHALLENGER DAVID GROOTERS SR.
