A PORT CHARLOTTE WOMAN WAS KILLED IN A ONE CAR ACCIDENT IN EL JOBEAN ON FRIDAY. THE FLORIDA HIGHWAY PATROL SAYS 38 YEAR OLD JENNIFER SCHERBER WAS SOUTHBOUND ON EL JOBEAN ROAD IN THE RIGHT LANE JUST AFTER 12:30PM FRIDAY WHEN SHE TRAVELED OFF THE ROAD NEAR STURKE ROAD. HER FORD SUV STRUCK A UTILITY POLE AND THE EMERGENCY SIGNAL POST BEFORE TRAVELING DOWN THE EMBANKMENT. SCHERBER, THE ONLY ONE IN HER TRUCK, WAS PRONOUNCED DEAD AT THE SCENE. TROOPERS SAY SHE WAS NOT WEARING A SEAT BELT.
