SARASOTA COUNTY DEPUTIES ARE LOOKING FOR A SUSPECT IN A HOME INVASION ROBBERY. AUTHORITIES SAY THEY WERE CALLED TO A HOME IN THE 2000 BLOCK OF TERRY LANE IN SARASOTA JUST AFTER MIDNIGHT THIS MORNING BY THE ELDERLY VICTIM, WHO TOLD THEM SHE RETURNED HOME AND PARKED IN HER GARAGE WHEN THE SUSPECT RAN INSIDE FROM THE STREET. THEY DISPLAYED A HANDGUN AND DEMANDED HER PURSE, BUT THE VICTIM REFUSED. A STRUGGLE ENSUED IN WHICH THE VICTIM WAS BATTERED. THE SUSPECT FLED WITH THE PURSE IN AN UNKNOWN DIRECTION. THE 68 YEAR OLD WOMAN SUSTAINED MINOR INJURIES AND WAS TREATED AT THE SCENE. DEPUTIES SEARCHED THE AREA BUT DID NOT FIND THE SUSPECT, AND NO DESCRIPTION WAS GIVEN.
