SARASOTA COUNTY DEPUTIES ARE LOOKING FOR A MAN WHO ROBBED AN INTERNET CAFÉ OVER THE WEEKEND. DEPUTIES SAY AN UNKNOWN BLACK MAN ENTERED THE GOLD RUSH ON NORTH WASHINGTON BOULEVARD WITH A GUN JUST BEFORE 11:30 SATURDAY NIGHT. THE SUSPECT GRABBED THE CLERK FROM BEHIND AND TOLD HER TO OPEN THE CASH REGISTER. THE SUSPECT THEN HIT THE CLERK IN THE HEAD WITH THE GUN BEFORE GRABBING THE REGISTER AND FLEEING ON FOOT HEADING SOUTH. WITNESSES TOLD DEPUTIES THEY SAW THE SUSPECT LEAVE IN A BLUE FULL-SIZE PICKUP TRUCK WITH A WHITE OR GREY STRIPE. THE BACK WINDOW OF THE TRUCK WAS BROKEN WITH PLASTIC COVERING IT. THE VEHICLE WAS LAST SEEN IN THE AREA OF 34TH STREET AND OLD BRADENTON ROAD. THE SUSPECT IS BETWEEN 5’8 AND 5’10” TALL, BETWEEN 180-200 POUNDS, AND HE WAS WEARING A WHITE LONG SLEEVE SHIRT, JEANS, WHITE SHOES, AND A MASK. ANYONE WITH INFORMATION IS ASKED TO CALL CRIMINAL INVESTIGATIONS AT 861-4900, OR CRIME STOPPERS AT 366-TIPS.
