A thirty-year-old teacher at L.E.A.D. Academy in Montgomery, Alabama is behind bars this week after a student told police he bought two oxycodone-acetaminophen pills from the man in the classroom for ten dollars. According to court records, the student paid through Cash App to the teacher’s girlfriend since he didn’t have his own account, and investigators later confirmed the transaction. The teacher, Langston Carter, was fired by the school and now faces multiple felony charges.
The arrest took a serious turn when a K-9 search of Carter’s vehicle uncovered marijuana, a digital scale, mushroom-infused gummies, nineteen additional oxycodone pills, and a loaded 9 mm handgun. Students were placed on lockdown during the investigation, and Carter is being held at the Montgomery County Detention Facility on a $300,000 bond. The charges include unlawful distribution of a controlled substance and possession of a firearm on school property.
