Allegiant Air is scheduled for 32 departures from Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport during the Sept. 24-30 period, connecting our region to 15 destinations across the Midwest, Northeast and Southeast. That’s roughly 64 total operations at SRQ in a single week, from Akron-Canton all the way up to Syracuse.
The schedule has a distinct shape. Thursday and Sunday each carry nine departures, while Saturday and Tuesday have none at all. It looks odd until you remember who Allegiant flies: leisure travelers, snowbirds and families visiting relatives, not Monday morning business commuters. The airline builds frequency around demand rather than daily consistency, and the numbers at SRQ reflect that approach.
The bigger picture is growth. Allegiant’s route map at SRQ now lists 33 destinations, up from just three when service began in 2018, and the airline has carried more than five million passengers through the airport since. New Flint service starts Feb. 10, 2027, with seasonal Providence flights beginning Feb. 13, 2027. For listeners in Sarasota, Bradenton and the surrounding Gulf Coast, that means more nonstop options without the drive to Tampa.
