A Bradenton man already held in the Manatee County Jail is facing a new and far more serious charge. Quazone Elijawun Taylor, 34, was served with a second-degree murder warrant Thursday in connection with the death of Starr Lashua, 44. Taylor had been behind bars on an attempted murder charge in the Aug. 18 stabbing of a 15-year-old boy.
According to Manatee County homicide detectives, witness interviews and forensic evidence from the stabbing investigation connected Taylor to Lashua’s death. Investigators have not released when or where Lashua died, how she died, or a possible motive, which leaves plenty of questions for the community as the case moves forward.
It’s worth remembering that a charge is an accusation and does not constitute a conviction. Taylor remains in the Manatee County Jail, and the investigation is still active, so additional details could surface in the coming days. We’ll continue covering this story as it develops here on the Suncoast.
