Tampa Bay sports fans had plenty to celebrate Thursday night. The Buccaneers traveled to Arlington without starting quarterback Baker Mayfield and came home with a 24-16 win over the Dallas Cowboys, their first victory of the season. Undrafted rookie Jalon Daniels made the most of his opportunity, throwing a 5-yard touchdown to Bucky Irving in the first half and later connecting with Tez Johnson on a 64-yard strike that set up another Irving score. Irving finished with a career-high 165 yards from scrimmage, and the defense closed things out with a late interception of Dak Prescott.
Across the bay, the Lightning stayed hot at Amalie Arena with a 3-2 win over the Minnesota Wild, their third consecutive victory. Defenseman John Carlson scored his first two goals as a member of the Bolts, giving fans a new name to cheer for as the season settles in.
Not every Tampa Bay team had a night to remember. USF fell 31-24 at UTSA after the Roadrunners scored with just 15 seconds remaining, a finish that left Bulls fans stunned. With football and hockey both in full swing, the Suncoast has plenty to talk about. Which Tampa Bay team are you most excited about right now?
