A Walmart delivery driver in Peoria, Arizona noticed something strange this August: thirty to fifty packages piling up at a single home. That observation, reported to authorities, launched a two-month investigation that ended with six arrests and the dismantling of a $1.2 million fraud operation. According to police, the group placed roughly 15,500 orders on Walmart.com using hacked customer accounts and stolen card numbers, altering delivery addresses to avoid fraud alerts and routing merchandise through drop houses and two boba shops before shipping it to Vietnam in containers.

Investigators recovered $25,000 in merchandise, $35,000 in cash and $45,000 in gold bars. Hoài Nguyen Nguyen, 30, is accused of organizing the scheme, which authorities say involved at least nine people. Those arrested face charges including fraud, identity theft, computer tampering and trafficking in stolen property. A Peoria police officer credited the delivery driver directly, saying the case might never have crossed their radar without that tip.
