Disney+ and Hulu subscribers woke up Wednesday to higher bills. Disney raised prices across nearly every tier, effective today, marking the fourth streaming hike in four years. Ad-free Disney+ Premium and Hulu Premium each climb from $18.99 to $21.49 a month, while the ad-free bundle rises to $21.99. Ad-supported Disney+ and Hulu each go up 50 cents to $12.49.
One number stands out: the ad-supported bundle stays at $12.99 a month. That’s only 50 cents more than a single ad-supported service, and Disney knows it. According to Variety, the pricing strategy is built to push customers toward bundles. For Suncoast households already juggling four or five streaming subscriptions alongside hurricane-season expenses, that nudge might be the smartest deal on the board.
The increases don’t stop at Disney+ and Hulu. Select plans bundling ESPN, HBO Max, NFL+ and Hulu with Live TV are also going up. For snowbirds splitting time between Florida and points north, or retirees on fixed budgets, today is a good day to audit those auto-renewals and decide what’s actually earning its spot.
