Hillsborough’s Ghost Sting Operation Ends With 16 Domestic Violence Arrests

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office arrested 16 people on active domestic violence warrants during a two-day operation called Ghost Sting, which ran October 12-13 across the county. Detectives from the Domestic Violence Unit and the Warrants Section carried out the arrests, and the results were announced during Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Two of the arrests stand out for a troubling reason. Karim Shereef, 28, and Jonathon Jordan, 48, are both facing domestic battery and strangulation charges, and this marks each man’s third domestic violence arrest this year. Shereef’s prior arrests came since May, while Jordan’s stretch back to February.

Sheriff Chad Chronister said behind every warrant is a person who was hurt by someone they trusted, and he wants anyone living in fear to know help is available. If you have information related to a domestic violence case, or if you need assistance, the sheriff’s office can be reached at 813-247-8200.
