The Gulf Coast music calendar for September 18 through 20 is about as full as it gets. Zac Brown Band brings the Love & Fear Tour to Benchmark International Arena in Tampa Friday at 7 PM, while Damon Fowler holds down the blues at Encore Live Sarasota the same night. Saturday, Ryan Castro takes over the Yuengling Center at 8:30 PM, and Sunday morning Russell Dickerson plays Seminole Hard Rock Tampa at 11 AM.
For something a little different, the Island Hopper Songwriter Fest returns to Captiva and Fort Myers island venues all weekend. The fest puts professional songwriters in intimate rooms where you hear the stories behind songs you already know. Between the headliners, dozens of free and ticketed shows fill venues across Bradenton, Cortez, Sarasota, Punta Gorda, and Fort Myers, so there’s a set for every budget.
One scheduling note: Swordfish Grill & Tiki Bar in Cortez is closed through September 23 for its annual deep cleaning and maintenance. If that was your waterfront stop, pick another spot this weekend and circle back next week.
