The Gulf Coast dining scene is having a moment. This fall’s wave of openings stretches from downtown Tampa all the way to Naples, and the range is impressive. Pura Vida Miami landed at 1038 Water Street with all-day breakfast, bowls and coffee, while Naree on N. Franklin Street offers an intimate Thai kaiseki tasting menu for a special night out. In St. Petersburg, Mei pairs French and Japanese influences under Executive Chef Alex Chamberlain.
Closer to the Suncoast’s beach communities, Clearwater’s Nubo Cafe and Bakery is serving Ukrainian comfort food and pastries on Cleveland Street, and Comptoir The Counter Cafe brings French breads, crepes and quiche to the area near Ringling College in Sarasota. Heading south, Puerto Rican Spice is now open on S. Tamiami Trail in North Port, and Latitude 26 debuted at Fishermen’s Village in Punta Gorda with waterfront seafood and harbor views.
The growth doesn’t stop there. More concepts are planned for Bradenton, Venice, Port Charlotte, Fort Myers, Cape Coral and Naples, including Buck and Rider’s late-2026 arrival at Waterside Shops. With so many new kitchens opening within a short drive, the hardest part is picking where to eat first. Which new Suncoast restaurant is on your list?
