Hillsborough County deputies arrested 32-year-old Joshua Mobley of Ruskin on Thursday in connection with a violent robbery outside Calvary’s Angel Attic food pantry on East College Avenue. According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, the victim was struck multiple times from behind around 8 a.m. on Tuesday, October 27, then robbed of jewelry, a cell phone, and a wallet before the suspect fled on foot. The victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives located Mobley on Harbour Blue Street in Ruskin. He is charged with robbery with a weapon and aggravated battery with a weapon causing great bodily harm, and the sheriff’s office says the investigation remains active. Sheriff Chad Chronister said the victim was ambushed near a place where neighbors go for help, and that the accused is now off the streets.

The location of the attack has struck a nerve with volunteers and families who rely on the pantry, which serves a steady stream of Ruskin residents every week. If you have information about the case, contact the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.
