Nearly 176,000 Gourmia Stainless Steel Digital 9-Slice Air Fryer Ovens sold exclusively at Target are being recalled after dozens of reported burns. The Consumer Product Safety Commission says the spring-loaded glass French doors on these units can snap shut unexpectedly when bumped, and Gourmia has logged 57 reports of doors closing on their own while people were pulling food out. At least 40 people have been injured.
The recalled model is GTF7530, UPC 810002862779, and the model number is printed on the back of the unit. These ovens sold at Target stores and on Target.com from October 2021 through June 2026 for around $150, so they’re in plenty of kitchens across the Suncoast, from Bradenton down through Sarasota and Venice. If yours matches, stop using it right away and contact Gourmia for a free repair kit that includes an attachable doorstop and instructions.
There’s no receipt requirement mentioned, so the first step is just finding the label on the back of the machine. With holiday cooking season ahead, it’s worth a quick check before the oven gets heavy use. Have you looked at yours yet? Let us know what model number you found.
