AN ABANDONED HOME IN OVERBROOK GARDENS BURNED TO THE GROUND EARLY THIS MORNING. ENGLEWOOD FIRE CONTROL DISTRICT CHIEF BRIAN GORSKI SAID THE FIRE BROKE OUT JUST AFTER 3AM AT 1642 OVERBROOK ROAD. WHEN FIREFIGHTERS ARRIVED ON SCENE THEY FOUND THE HOME TOTALLY ENGULFED IN FLAMES WITH THE ROOF ALREADY VENTING SMOKE. THEY ATTACKED THE FIRE AND PUT IT OUT QUICKLY, BUT THE HOME IS CONSIDERED A TOTAL LOSS. GORSKI TOLD WFLN NEWS THAT THE HOME HAS BEEN VACANT FOR TWO YEARS, AND THE STATE FIRE MARSHAL HAS BEEN CALLED IN TO INVESTIGATE THE CAUSE OF THE BLAZE.
