THE SEARCH FOR A NEW POLICE CHIEF IN VENICE IS NOW DOWN TO FOUR.  ACCORDING TO THE HERALD TRIBUNE, CURRENT POLICE CAPTAIN TOM MCNULTY AND FORMER NORTH PORT POLICE CHIEF AND CURRENT INTERIM CITY MANAGER TERRY LEWIS ARE AMONG THE FINALISTS FOR THE POSITION THAT WAS VACATED BY FORMER POLICE CHIEF JULIE WILLIAMS IN OCTOBER.  INTERIM CITY MANAGER NANCY WOODLEY WILL REPORTEDLY MEET PRIVATELY WITH THE FOUR FINALISTS NEXT WEEK, AND THE CITY COUNCIL IS EXPECTED TO MAKE A CHOICE AT THEIR APRIL 26TH MEETING.  IN ADDITION TO MCNULTY AND LEWIS, MARK TEUNIS, A MAJOR WITH THE CLEARWATER POLICE DEPARTMENT AND EUGENIO BERNAL, A DEPUTY CHIEF WITH THE ORLANDO POLICE DEPARTMENT ARE ALSO IN THE RUNNING.
