A PUNTA GORDA MAN ON A BICYCLE COLLIDED WITH A VEHICLE IN PORT CHARLOTTE LAST NIGHT.  THE FLORIDA HIGHWAY PATROL SAYS 60 YEAR OLD RAYMOND HEMBREE WAS EASTBOUND ON HARBOR BOULEVARD CROSSING OVER US 41 JUST BEFORE 10PM.  A WITNESS TOLD TROOPERS THE BIKE ENTERED THE DIRECT PATH OF A VEHICLE WHILE HAVING A RED LIGHT.  THE VEHICLE PUSHED HEMBREE AND HIS BIKE FIFTY FEET BEFORE HE WAS THROWN TO THE GROUND IN THE INTERSECTION.  HEMBREE WAS FLOWN TO LEE MEMORIAL HOSPITAL IN SERIOUS CONDITION.  THE VEHICLE LEFT THE SCENE TRAVELING NORTHBOUND ON US 41.  ANYONE WITH INFORMATION IS ASKED TO CONTACT TROOPER SCOTT MURRAY WITH THE FLORIDA HIGHWAY PATROL AT 941-483-5911.
