CHARLOTTE COUNTY DEPUTIES ARRESTED A DEEP CREEK MAN SUNDAY AFTER A CANINE TRACKED RIGHT TO HIS APARTMENT DOOR.  DEPUTIES SAY THE OWNER OF A RED JEEP PATRIOT CALLED AROUND 7:30PM SUNDAY AFTER HE SAW A WHITE MALE LEANING INSIDE HIS VEHICLE WITH THE DOOR OPEN.  HE YELLED AT THE MAN WHO QUICKLY RAN AWAY, BUT THE VICTIM WAS ABLE TO GIVE A DETAILED DESCRIPTION.  THE DEPUTY SAID HE HAD PERSONAL KNOWLEDGE FROM PRIOR ARRESTS THAT 19 YEAR OLD NICHOLAS TORRES FIT THE DESCRIPTION AND LIVED NEARBY.  THE DEPUTY WENT TO TORRES’ APARTMENT AND FOUND HIM ON THE BACK PORCH IN THE SAME CLOTHES THAT THE VICTIM DESCRIBED.  TORRES DENIED LEAVING THE APARTMENT, BUT THE BLOODHOUND TRACKED FROM THE VEHICLE TO THE FRONT DOOR.  THE VICTIM THEN POSITIVELY IDENTIFIED TORRES, WHO WAS CHARGED WITH BURGLARY TO A CONVEYANCE AND VIOLATION OF PROBATION.  HE REMAINS IN THE CHARLOTTE COUNTY JAIL WITHOUT BOND SINCE HE IS A CONVICTED FELON.
