A JEEP WRANGLER WAS FOUND SUBMERGED IN A CANAL BEHIND A HOME ON SIESTA KEY YESTERDAY MORNING AND A BODY WAS FOUND INSIDE. AUTHORITIES SAY A LANDSCAPER CALLED AFTER DISCOVERING THE VEHICLE OFF THE BACK YARD OF A HOME AT 5569 CAPE LEYTE DRIVE AT AROUND 10AM. THE FLORIDA HIGHWAY PATROL ANNOUNCED THE PERSON INSIDE WAS 64 YEAR OLD JAMES JONES OF SARASOTA. TROOPERS SAY JONES WAS THE ONLY ONE IN THE WRANGLER AS IT TRAVELED NORTH IN THE FRONT YARD OF THE RESIDENCE AT AROUND 6:45AM YESTERDAY. FOR AN UNKNOWN REASON, THE JEEP STRUCK A CONCRETE PILLAR IN THE BACKYARD, CAUSING IT TO TRAVEL OVER THE SEAWALL INTO THE SALTWATER CANAL. THE HIGHWAY PATROL SAYS ALCOHOL DID NOT PLAY A ROLE IN THE ACCIDENT AND NO CHARGES WILL BE FILED.
