A 5 YEAR OLD BOY RIDING A BICYCLE WAS CRITICALLY INJURED WHEN HE WAS HIT BY A CAR AS THEY DROVE INTO THE DRIVEWAY OF THEIR HOME LAST NIGHT.  THE FLORIDA HIGHWAY PATROL SAYS 23 YEAR OLD GUILLERMO BURBANO OF PORT CHARLOTTE WAS EASTBOUND ON PEACHLAND BOULEVARD APPROACHING HIS DRIVEWAY ACCESS AT 21467 PEACHLAND JUST BEFORE 8:30PM WHEN HE HIT A BICYCLE RIDDEN BY JEREMIAS SOLIS OF PORT CHARLOTTE.  THE BOY WAS RIDING ON THE SIDEWALK ADJACENT TO PEACHLAND AND DID NOT SEE THE CAR.  THE IMPACT THREW THE BOY FROM THE BIKE ONTO THE WESTBOUND GRASS SHOULDER OF THE ROAD.  SOLIS WAS FLOWN BY MEDSTAR HELICOPTER TO TAMPA GENERAL HOSPITAL IN CRITICAL CONDITION.  NEITHER BURBANO NOR HIS 4 YEAR OLD GIRL GABRIELLA WAS INJURED.  THE BOY WAS NOT WEARING A HELMET, AND TROOPERS SAY CHARGES ARE PENDING THE COMPLETION OF THE INVESTIGATION.
