A PORT CHARLOTTE MAN WAS ARRESTED MONDAY AFTER BEING FOUND SLEEPING ON THE COUCH OF THE HOME HE ALLEGEDLY BROKE INTO.  CHARLOTTE COUNTY DEPUTIES WERE CALLED TO THE HOME ON ELLICOTT CIRCLE AT AROUND 7:30AM AFTER A FRIEND OF THE HOMEOWNER FOUND 31 YEAR OLD BRYAN DUDENHEFER WHILE CHECKING THE RESIDENCE.  IT TOOK A BIT, BUT DEPUTIES WERE FINALLY ABLE TO WAKE UP DUDENHEFER, WHO TOLD THEM HE WAS INVITED TO STAY AT THE HOME BY SOME GUYS HE MET AT A BAR THE PREVIOUS NIGHT.  HOWEVER, DEPUTIES SAID HE COULD NOT REMEMBER THE NAMES OF THE PEOPLE HE MET AT THE BAR NOR COULD HE RECALL WHETHER HE GOT INSIDE THE HOME WITH A KEY.  THAT MYSTERY WAS SOLVED WHEN DEPUTIES FOUND A SMASHED OUT WINDOW IN THE HOME.  A BAG WAS FOUND IN A BEDROOM NEXT TO AN OPEN DRESSER DRAWER ALONG WITH A COOLER AND SUITCASE THAT BELONGED TO DUDENHEFER.  HE WAS CHARGED WITH BURGLARY AND TAKEN TO THE CHARLOTTE COUNTY JAIL, WHERE EMPLOYEES FOUND SYRINGES AND DRUG PARAPHERNALIA ON HIM.  A CHARGE OF INTRODUCTION OF CONTRABAND INTO A DETENTION FACILITY WAS ADDED ON, AND DUDENHEFER REMAINS IN THE CHARLOTTE COUNTY JAIL ON A $30,000 BOND.
