THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES MET AT THE LEMON BAY PLAYHOUSE ON MONDAY AND CONTINUED TO PLAY OUT THEIR OWN REAL LIFE DRAMA.  PUBLISHED REPORTS SAY THAT FORMER BOARD MEMBER REX GOVORCHIN, WHO HAD VERBALLY RESIGNED HIS SEAT SEVERAL MONTHS AGO, TRIED TO RECLAIM HIS SEAT ON THE BOARD, BUT THE BOARD PRESIDENT, SHERRIE RAGAN SAID THAT HIS SEAT BELONGS TO JACK MCMORROW, WHO WAS IN ATTENDANCE ON MONDAY.  GOVORCHIN ALSO DEMANDED THE RESIGNATIONS OF RAGAN AND BOARD SECRETARY KELLY DAVIDS, WHO HE MAINTAINED HAD IMPROPERLY KEPT MEETING MINUTES, AND HE SAID THE MEETING WAS ILLEGAL.  AT THAT TIME GOVORCHIN AND BOARD MEMBERS RUSS KYPER, ROY LOVESKY, AND MCMORROW WALKED OUT OF THE MEETING, BUT IT CONTINUED SINCE THEY STILL HAD FOUR OF THE SEVEN BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT, WHICH REPRESENTED A QUORUM.  THE BOARD’S DIVISION IS BORNE OF A DISPUTE ON HOW LARGE A NEW PERFORMING ARTS COMPLEX SHOULD BE.  THE PROPOSAL CALLS FOR A 300-SEAT THEATER, BUT SOME BELIEVE THAT’S WAY TOO BIG.
