CHARLOTTE COUNTY COMMISSIONER ROBERT SKIDMORE BROKE SOME NEWS ON THE MORNING MAGAZINE SHOW THIS MORNING.  HE WAS APPEARING TO TALK ABOUT THE COUNTY’S PLAN TO PUT A TRAILER ON ENGLEWOOD BEACH TO SELL FOOD AND SUNDRY ITEMS, BUT INSTEAD HE SAID AFTER HEARING FROM THE PEOPLE, ALL BETS ARE NOW OFF.  OVER 1600 PEOPLE HAD SIGNED A PETITION TO VOICE THEIR DISPLEASURE ABOUT THE TRAILER.  SKIDMORE SAID THE NEGOTIATIONS WITH THE VENICE PIER GROUP HAVE STOPPED AND THE COMMISSION WILL HAVE TO COME UP WITH OTHER REVENUE STREAMS TO HELP PAY FOR THE PROPOSED ELIMINATION OF PARKING FEES AT THE BEACH.  WHITE ELEPHANT OWNER PAT O’CONNOR WAS ALSO A GUEST ON THE SHOW, AND HE NOW HAS TO CHANGE PLANS FOR HIS 11AM GATHERING TOMORROW, BUT HE’S JUST FINE WITH THAT.  SKIDMORE SAID HE WOULD ATTEND THE RALLY AS WELL.
