AUTHORITIES SAY THERE HAVE BEEN AT LEAST NINE BREAK-INS IN ENGLEWOOD OVER THE PAST TWO WEEKS, BUT THEY ARE NOT SAYING IF THEY ARE ALL RELATED.  EIGHT OF THEM OCCURRED IN SARASOTA COUNTY OVER TWO NIGHTS.  THERE WERE FIVE BREAK-INS REPORTED ON SOUTH INDIANA AVENUE IN THE EARLY MORNING HOURS OF JANUARY 26TH.  THE BURGLAR OR BURGLARS GOT AWAY WITH MOSTLY CASH, BUT A YELLOW TOOL BOX AND A FLASH DRIVE WERE TAKEN FROM ONE BUSINESS, AND A WORLD WAR II POCKET KNIFE WAS TAKEN FROM ANOTHER.  THEN LAST MONDAY NIGHT, THREE BUSINESSES ON DEARBORN STREET WERE TARGETED.  ONCE AGAIN CASH WAS THE MAIN THING TAKEN, BUT ALSO COSTUME JEWELRY WAS TAKEN FROM ONE BUSINESS, WHILE THREE COMPUTERS AND DRUGS WERE TAKEN FROM ANOTHER.  THE LAST KNOWN BREAK-IN OCCURRED THURSDAY NIGHT AT THE GULF COAST TRUE VALUE ON SOUTH MCCALL ROAD IN CHARLOTTE COUNTY.  DEPUTIES THERE HAVE YET TO RELEASE ANY INFORMATION.
