A MIAMI TRUCK DRIVER WAS CITED BY THE HIGHWAY PATROL IN AN ACCIDENT MONDAY AFTERNOON.  TROOPERS SAY 48 YEAR OLD OSCAR RAMIREZ WAS TRAVELING NORTH ON THE INTERSTATE SOUTH OF FRUITVILLE ROAD AT AROUND 2PM WHEN HE LOST CONTROL OF HIS FREIGHT LINER AND DRIFTED FROM THE RIGHT LANE INTO THE CENTER LANE AND THE PATH OF A VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT THAT WAS DRIVEN BY 49 YEAR OLD GEORGE ANGELOFF OF SARASOTA.  THE COLLISION SENT THE TRUCK ACROSS THE CENTER AND LEFT LANES INTO THE MEDIAN WHERE IT COLLIDED WITH THE WIRE GUARD RAIL.  ANGELOFF WAS TAKEN TO DOCTOR’S HOSPITAL IN SARASOTA WAS MINOR INJURIES.  RAMIREZ WAS NOT INJURED, BUT WAS CITED BY TROOPERS FOR FAILURE TO MAINTAIN A SINGLE LANE.
