WOMAN CRASHED INTO TWO FHP CRUISERS

AN ELDERLY SARASOTA WOMAN WAS SIGHTED FRIDAY NIGHT AFTER CRASHING INTO A FLORIDA HIGHWAY PATROL CRUISER WHICH BANGED INTO ANOTHER.  TROOPERS SAY THE TWO CRUISERS WERE PROTECTING A VEHICLE THAT WAS BLOCKING THE OUTSIDE RIGHT LANE OF BENEVA ROAD FROM A PREVIOUS CRASH WHEN 79 YEAR OLD MARTHA HOWE APPROACHED IN HER TOYOTA HIGHLANDER JUST AFTER 7PM FRIDAY.  HOWE DID NOT MOVE OVER STOP AND HIT THE UNOCCUPIED CRUISER IN THE REAR, WHICH FORCED IT INTO ANOTHER CRUISER THAT HAD A TROOPER INSIDE FILLING OUT HIS ACCIDENT REPORT.  HE SUFFERED MINOR INJURIES AND WAS TREATED AT THE SCENE, WHILE HOWE WAS TAKEN TO SARASOTA MEMORIAL HOSPITAL FOR TREATMENT OF HER MINOR INJURIES.  SHE WAS CHARGED WITH CARELESS DRIVING AND DRIVING ON A SUSPENDED LICENSE IN THE ACCIDENT.
