A SARASOTA WOMAN WAS SERIOUSLY INJURED WHILE BACKING HER CAR OUT OF HER GARAGE EARLY SATURDAY MORNING. THE FLORIDA HIGHWAY PATROL SAYS 73 YEAR OLD CAROLE MONINE WAS ATTEMPTING TO LEAVE HER ISLAND CIRCLE HOME AT AROUND 6:15AM WHEN SHE FORGOT TO CLOSE THE DOOR OF HER VAN. SHE TRIED TO FREE THE DOOR WHILE THE VAN WAS MOVING BUT SHE WAS PARTIALLY EJECTED SINCE SHE HADN’T FASTENED HER SEAT BELT. SHE WAS PULLED ALONG THE BRICK PAVED DRIVEWAY UNTIL BEING TOTALLY THROWN FROM THE VAN. SHE WAS BAYFLITED TO BAYFRONT MEDICAL CENTER IN CRITICAL CONDITION. THE VAN CAME TO REST AGAINST THE HOME. THERE WERE NO TIRE MARKS IN THE DRIVEWAY DUE TO THE BRICK-PAVER STYLE CONSTRUCTION. NO CHARGES WILL BE FILED.
