A PORT CHARLOTTE WOMAN WAS ARRESTED AFTER LEAVING HER CHILDREN IN THE CAR WHILE SHE CLEANED A HOUSE. CHARLOTTE COUNTY DEPUTIES SAY 23 YEAR OLD SHANNON WALSH LEFT THE FOUR YEAR OLD GIRL AND ONE YEAR OLD BOY IN THE CAR NEAR A RESTAURANT AND US 41. THE FOUR YEAR OLD DECIDED TO GET OUT AND WALK AROUND AND WAS SPOTTED BY A THREE YEAR OLD GIRL WHOSE MOTHER OWNS THE RESTAURANT. SHE CONTACTED DEPUTIES WHO FOUND THE WOMAN IN A HOUSE ON THE NEXT STREET. WALSH TOLD DEPUTIES SHE LEFT THE CHILD IN THE CAR WHILE SHE WORKED, AND WHEN DEPUTIES WENT TO THE CAR THEY FOUND THE BABY STRAPPED INSIDE. FORTUNATELY WALSH LEFT THE WINDOWS OPEN. THE CHILDREN ARE NOW IN THE CARE OF THEIR GRANDMOTHER AND THE DEPARTMENT OF CHILDREN AND FAMILIES WAS NOTIFIED. WALSH WAS CHARGED WITH TWO COUNTS OF CHILD NEGLECT. SHE POSTED $6000 BOND AND WAS RELEASED FROM THE CHARLOTTE COUNTY JAIL.
