Walmart shoppers across the Suncoast should take a quick look in their freezers this week. Two lots of Bettergoods Authentic Italian Lemon Alfredo Fettuccine, a 22-ounce frozen pasta sold nationwide, are being recalled because of possible listeria contamination. The recall follows routine sampling by state agriculture departments in Washington and Florida that flagged the issue, and no illnesses have been reported so far.
The recalled packages carry lot numbers L6079C or L6080C with expiration dates of September 19 or 20, 2027. If your package matches, don’t eat it. Return it to any Walmart for a full refund, or email Gias Foods directly with any questions. Listeria can be especially serious for older adults, pregnant women, young children, and anyone with a weakened immune system, groups that make up a big part of our Gulf Coast communities.
The upside here is that the safety net caught this early. Routine testing, a swift recall, and a simple refund process mean the risk stays small if people check their freezers.
