Aldi shoppers on the Suncoast have something to smile about this fall. The grocery chain is lowering prices on roughly a third of its regularly stocked products, and the reductions are already in effect at stores nationwide. The cuts run through at least Nov. 3, and Aldi estimates the move will save customers around $86 million.
The markdowns cover plenty of fall staples: grapes, Bartlett pears, Brussels sprouts, butternut and spaghetti squash, fresh herbs, garlic, French beans, apples and potatoes. The standout for many families is chicken breast, with family packs down to $1.99 a pound, the lowest price since 2022. For households around Sarasota and Manatee County watching every line on the receipt, that’s a meaningful shift heading into the busy season.
The timing matters. Grocery prices remain above last year’s levels, so even a temporary round of cuts gives shoppers a concrete way to save. Aldi’s chief commercial officer, Scott Patton, said the company is investing in lower prices on its better-for-you favorites as customers settle into fall routines and healthier habits. Whether this signals broader relief at the register is still an open question, but for now, the deals are live.
