Sunday marked nine months since Nancy Guthrie, 84, disappeared from her Tucson-area home on February 1, and her daughter Savannah Guthrie used Instagram to ask the public for help once more. The post included a drawing from Savannah’s own daughter with the words, “I know it might not seem like it but I really need my mommy.” Investigators still have no suspect or person of interest.
There’s a Florida angle worth noting. The Pima County Sheriff’s Department said its investigators traveled to Florida to meet with scientists, hoping to advance DNA analysis in the case. Meanwhile, the rewards have stacked up: $1 million from the family, $102,500 from 88-CRIME, and $100,000 from the FBI for information leading to Nancy’s location or a conviction.
For Suncoast listeners, the takeaway is practical. Tips can be submitted by phone or online, and even a detail that seems unimportant could matter after nine months of dead ends. High-profile cases fade from headlines, but the families don’t get to move on.
