Fogartyville Community Media and Arts Center has finished its renovations, and the Rosemary District space is celebrating with a free Open House and Record Fair on Saturday, October 3, 2026, from 4 to 8 p.m. at 525 Kumquat Court. The event marks the grand reopening of the home of WSLR Community Radio after extensive upgrades through the Built for Belonging initiative.
Visitors can dig through vinyl and CD sales, take programmer-led tours of the radio studios, and enjoy live performances from Trevor Bystrom, Nora Bear and Mateo Music Radio. Food trucks, a photo booth and live mural painting round out the evening, making it an easy, family-friendly night out in downtown Sarasota.
The renovations were supported by a $108,000 Impact100 SRQ grant, along with funding from the Selby and Patterson foundations. The celebration comes just ahead of WSLR’s Fall Fund Drive, which runs October 7 through 13, when local listeners can help keep independent community radio on the air.
