Two former Southeast High School football standouts who took their talents to college rivals are bringing the FSU-UF matchup home to Palmetto, and the whole community is invited. Adrian McPherson, a Florida State alum, and Reggie Davis, a Florida alum, are hosting the inaugural Legacy Weekend Tailgate and Watch Party on Friday, Nov. 27, at Sutton Park. A donor’s contribution made admission free, so fans can watch the game on a big screen without spending a dime.
The afternoon includes food trucks, live music, a kids zone, raffles, and meet-and-greets with former players, with youth football organizations expected to take part. Proceeds benefit RI5E Leadership & Sports Academy, McPherson’s nonprofit that provides academic support, mentorship, leadership development, and career exposure to local young people.
The event begins at 2 p.m. at 1006 Sixth St. W. in Palmetto. The organizers remain happily divided on the game itself: Davis picks the Gators, McPherson backs the Seminoles. Full details are available at thelegacyweekend.net. Will we see you at Sutton Park on the 27th?
