Sarasota Oktoberfest is back at Nathan Benderson Park for its second year, and this time it’s a full weekend. The event runs Saturday, Oct. 10 and Sunday, Oct. 11, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days. Admission is free, parking is $20 per vehicle, and organizers are expecting 3,000 to 4,000 attendees, so plan to arrive early.
The weekend combines German culture on land with racing on the water. The Benderson Chase Regatta features youth and masters rowing, and Sunday adds brand-new dragon boat races, including cancer survivor teams. Onshore, you’ll find two German bands, a beer garden, Bavarian food, food trucks, trivia, and children’s activities. Daily staples include stein-holding contests at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., plus a new Bavarian costume contest at 3 p.m. both days.
The event runs rain or shine, with extra tents ready in case the weather shifts. Whether you’re there for the rowing, the music, the food, or the chance to show off a dirndl, there’s a full day waiting at Benderson Park. Will you be heading out Saturday or Sunday?
