CHARLOTTE COUNTY DEPUTIES SAY THE COOKIE MONSTER VAN THAT WAS STOLEN FROM ROTONDA OVER THE PAST WEEKEND WAS FOUND BY ARCADIA POLICE MONDAY NIGHT. DETECTIVES SAY THE STOLEN 1978 BLUE ECONOLINE FORD VAN WAS TAKEN TO THE ARCADIA POLICE IMPOUND YARD AND PROCESSED FOR FINGERPRINTS. IT REMAINS THERE WAITING FOR THE OWNER TO PICK IT UP. CHARLOTTE COUNTY PUBLIC INFORMATION OFFICER BOB CARPENTER TOLD US HE LIVES IN CONNECTICUT IN THE SUMMER AND SHOULD BE RETURNING THIS WEEK. DETECTIVES SAID BURGLARS BROKE INTO THE HOME AT 112 CREVALLE ROAD AND TOOK A TV, FURNITURE, AND APPLIANCES. THEY ALSO FOUND THE KEYS TO THE VAN PARKED IN THE GARAGE AND STOLE IT WITH THE OTHER ITEMS. NO ARRESTS HAVE BEEN MADE, HOWEVER, ANYONE WHO MAY HAVE INFORMATION ABOUT THOSE INVOLVED IN THE VAN THEFT IS ASKED TO CONTACT CHARLOTTE COUNTY DEPUTIES AT 6392101, OR CRIME STOPPERS AT 800-780-TIPS.
