A SARASOTA WOMAN DIED WHILE SCUBA DIVING ON SUNDAY.  THE U S COAST GUARD IN ST. PETERSBURG SAID THEY RESPONDED TO AN EMERGENCY CALL FROM A 20-FOOT RECREATION BOAT AT AROUND 12:45PM SUNDAY THAT WAS ABOUT FIFTEEN MILES WEST OF LONGBOAT PASS.  A SPOKESWOMAN FOR THE COAST GUARD SAID PASSENGERS ON THE BOAT WERE PERFORMING CPR ON 60 YEAR OLD LYNN ORMOND AFTER SHE SURFACED UNCONSCIOUS.  THE COAST GUARD TRANSFERRED ORMOND TO ITS RESCUE BOAT AND CONTINUED CPR AS IT CONTINUED TOWARDS THE SHORE BEFORE DOCKING AT THE COQUINA BOAT RAMP JUST AFTER 1:15PM.  ORMOND WAS PRONOUNCED DEAD THERE, AND HER BODY WAS TURNED OVER TO THE MEDICAL EXAMINER’S OFFICE TO DETERMINE THE EXACT CAUSE OF DEATH.  PUBLISHED REPORTS SAY ORMOND OWNED A SCUBA SHOP IN THE AREA SOME 20 YEARS AGO.
