CHARLOTTE COUNTY MAJOR CRIMES UNIT DETECTIVES ARE ASKING THE PUBLIC FOR HELP IN IDENTIFYING TWO WHITE MALE SUSPECTS INVOLVED IN A HOME INVASION ROBBERY EARLY SUNDAY MORNING.  RESIDENTS TOLD DEPUTIES THEY BELIEVE THE PAIR HIT THE WRONG HOUSE.  DEPUTIES RESPONDED JUST BEFORE 4AM SUNDAY TO THE 21000 BLOCK OF COULTON AVENUE IN PORT CHARLOTTE.  TWO ARMED MEN REPORTEDLY ENTERED THE HOME LOOKING FOR DRUGS.  BOTH WERE WEARING BANDANAS.  ONE WAS ABOUT FIVE FEET TEN INCHES TALL, ABOUT 170 POUNDS, AND WAS WEARING AN UNKNOWN COLORED TANK TOP, SHORTS, AND WAS ARMED WITH A HUNTING KNIFE.  THE OTHER IS ABOUT SIX FEET THREE INCHES TALL, ABOUT 150 POUNDS, AND WAS WEARING AN UNKNOWN COLORED TEE-SHIRT AND SHORTS.  HE WAS ARMED WITH A DOUBLE BARREL SHOTGUN.  THE TWO FLED INTO AN OLDER MODEL WHITE JEEP CHEROKEE WITH YELLOW LIGHTS ON THE RUNNING BOARDS.  DETECTIVES SAY IT’S POSSIBLE THE ROBBERS MAY HAVE MISTAKEN THEIR TARGET HOME AS A SEARCH WARRANT ON A KNOWN DRUG HOUSE IN THAT SAME BLOCK WAS MADE RECENTLY.  THE INVESTIGATION IS ONGOING, AND ANYONE WITH INFORMATION IS ASKED TO CALL THE SHERIFF’S OFFICE AT 639-2101, OR CRIME STOPPERS AT 800-780-TIPS (8477).
