A MOTORCYCLIST WAS CRITICALLY INJURED IN AN ACCIDENT YESTERDAY.  THE FLORIDA HIGHWAY PATROL SAYS 82 YEAR OLD ROMA JOHNSON OF VENICE WAS SOUTHBOUND IN THE LEFT TURN LANE ON ENGLEWOOD ROAD APPROACHING THE INTERSECTION OF HOURGLASS DRIVE JUST AFTER NOON WHEN HE ATTEMPTED TO MAKE THE TURN AND HIT A NORTHBOUND MOTORCYCLE THAT WAS DRIVEN BY 61 YEAR OLD DANIEL MILLER, ALSO OF VENICE.  THE IMPACT SENT THE BIKE ONTO ITS LEFT SIDE AND THREW MILLER TO THE GROUND.  MILLER WAS BAYFLITED TO BAYFRONT MEDICAL CENTER IN ST. PETERSBURG IN CRITICAL CONDITION.  JOHNSON WAS NOT INJURED.  TROOPERS SAY ALCOHOL WAS NOT A FACTOR AND CHARGES ARE PENDING THE COMPLETION OF THEIR INVESTIGATION.
