SHARE NOW

A PUNTA GORDA MAN IS BEHIND BARS THANKS TO A CRIME STOPPERS CALLER WHO RECOGNIZED A TATTOO IN A PICTURE CIRCULATED BY AUTHORITIES.  DETECTIVES SAY 41 YEAR OLD THOMAS PEGG WAS THE MAN WHO BURGLARIZED THE MOOSE LODGE AT 27590 DISSTON AVENUE BACK ON AUGUST 14TH.  AN ALARM WENT OFF JUST AFTER 4AM THAT MORNING, AND SURVEILANCE VIDEO SHOWED THE ROBBER PULLING HIS SHIRT UP OVER HIS HEAD TO CONCEAL HIS IDENTITY.  HOWEVER, IT ALSO SHOWED THE TATTOO ON HIS BACK BELOW THE NECK.  THIS PAST SATURDAY, A CALLER TO CRIME STOPPERS NAMED PEGG AS THE SUSPECT IN THE VIDEO, AND HE WAS QUESTIONED BY DETECTIVES ON TUESDAY.  A PICTURE OF THE TATTOO WAS TAKEN AND THEY MATCHED IT TO THE SECURITY VIDEO.  PEGG WAS CHARGED WITH BURGLARY AND PETIT THEFT.  HE MADE BOND AND WAS RELEASED YESTERDAY FROM THE CHARLOTTE COUNTY JAIL.
