THREE PEOPLE WERE INJURED IN AN ACCIDENT IN SARASOTA SUNDAY MORNING.  THE FLORIDA HIGHWAY PATROL SAYS 49 YEAR OLD RALPH MCCALLISTER OF SARASOTA AND 55 YEAR OLD ROIN RYDER OF SARASOTA WERE BOTH NORTHBOUND ON BENEVA ROAD IN THE RIGHT LANE, WHILE 74 YEAR OLD RONALD HAYES WAS IN THE LEFT LANE JUST AFTER 10:30AM.  MCCALLISTER WAS BEHIND RYDER AND HIT HIM FROM BEHIND, WHICH FORCED RYDER TO SLIDE INTO HAYES’ CAR.  THE IMPACT SENT MCALLISTER’S CHRYSLER 500 INTO A TELEPHONE POLE, WHILE BOTH RYDER AND HAYES’ CARS HIT A TREE ON THE GRASS MEDIAN.  RYDER AND A PASSENGER IN HAYES’ CAR, 66 YEAR OLD HUGH MCBRIDE OF SARASOTA, WERE TAKEN TO SARASOTA MEMORIAL HOSPITAL.  RYDER WAS REPORTEDLY TREATED FOR SERIOUS INJURIES, WHILE MCBRIDE’S INJURIES WERE CONSIDERED MINOR.  ANOTHER PASSENGER, 63 YEAR OLD LINDA MCBRIDE, WAS AIRLIFTED TO TAMPA GENERAL HOSPITAL IN SERIOUS CONDITION.  TROOPERS SAY CHARGES ARE PENDING THE COMPLETION OF THE INVESTIGATION.
