TWO PEOPLE WERE INJURED, ONE SERIOUSLY, IN AN ACCIDENT IN SARASOTA YESTERDAY MORNING.  THE FLORIDA HIGHWAY PATROL SAYS 17 YEAR OLD KAILA HESS OF SARASOTA WAS LEAVING THE DRIVEWAY OF HER HOME AT 55000 ASHTON ROAD WHEN SHE TURNED LEFT INTO THE PATH OF AN EASTBOUND TRACTOR TRAILER THAT WAS DRIVEN BY 41 YEAR OLD PEDRO PADRON OF TAMPA.  PADRON SAW WHAT WAS HAPPENING AND SWERVED INTO THE WESTBOUND LANE TO AVOID THE COLLISION, BUT THE LEFT FRONT OF HIS TRUCK HIT THE LEFT SIDE OF HESS’ PICK-UP.  HESS WAS BAYFLITED TO BAYFRONT MEDICAL CENTER IN ST. PETERSBURG IN SERIOUS CONDITION, WHILE PEDRON WAS TREATED AT THE SCENE FOR MINOR INJURIES.  TROOPERS SAY BOTH WERE WEARING THEIR SEATBELTS, AND CHARGES MAY BE PENDING AGAINST HESS ONCE THEIR INVESTIGATION IS COMPLETED.
